Head-to-Head Comparison
The biggest difference is not the zipper. It's fabric weight and fit. Here's the data:
| Product | Style | Material | Sizes | Price | Best For |
| Ranked Zip-Up | Zip-up | 10 oz brushed fleece | S-XXL | $54.99 | Layering and temp control |
| Arcade Pullover | Pullover | 9 oz cotton-poly fleece | S-XXL | $44.99 | Budget comfort |
| Alpha Pullover | Pullover | 12 oz heavyweight fleece | S-XXL | $59.99 | Cold rooms and gifting |
| Practice Zip-Up | Zip-up | 7 oz lightweight knit | S-XXL | $49.99 | Streaming and travel |
Pullover Strengths
Pullover hoodies win on hood structure. The Alpha uses 12 oz fleece, so the hood stands up on its own and frames your face on camera. The Arcade is softer against the neck for long sessions.
Because a pullover has one continuous shell, it traps heat better in a cold room. The downside is temperature control: once you're two sets in and sweating, removing it means fully pulling it over your head.
Zip-Up Strengths
Zip-ups flip that trade. The Ranked Zip-Up has a flat zipper tape that doesn't press into your sternum and doesn't bunch up under a fight stick. Open it a few inches between rounds to dump heat, then zip back up when the AC catches.
The Practice Zip-Up is the easiest to fold and throw in a duffel, but its 7 oz knit feels noticeably thinner and won't keep you warm below 60 degrees. The zipper is also the long-term failure point; both zip-ups passed my wash test, but I expect the Ranked's bulkier teeth to last longer.
Sizing and Fit Differences Between the Two
Sizing runs true to size across all four styles, but the cut differs. Pullovers feel slightly roomier through the chest because the front is one continuous piece. Zip-ups have a slimmer profile because the front panels are seamed separately, which makes them easier to layer under a jacket. If you're between sizes, go up for the pullover and stay true to size for the zip-up.
